Your private data
is safe with us
The Insight Group recognises its responsibility to protect the privacy of information provided to, or obtained by us. Furthermore, as an industry leader we pride ourselves on the relationship we build with our candidates. Therefore in accordance with the National Privacy Principles outlined in the Privacy Amendment (Private Sector) Act 2000 we have established a privacy policy, the key points of which are detailed below.
Information Collection
The Insight Group collects personal information from individuals in the course of our work as an Executive Search firm. This information includes what would normally be expected to form a resume (eg. contact details, employment history, qualifications, languages and other skills). It may include notes resulting from interviews and discussions with referees and a record of our contact with individuals. In addition, our data may include information gained from private sources and biographical details found in the public domain. In every instance we seek to ensure that information held is accurate and current. In addition, it is our policy not to solicit sensitive information (eg. data on racial/ethnic origin, health, sexual orientation, political opinions, religious/philosophical beliefs, and trade union membership).
Information Use and Disclosure
All information collected by, or provided to, The Insight Group is entered into our database. This database is secure, with access only available to The Insight Group employees and is used for the purposes of providing executive search and related services to our clients. An individual sending us information about themselves on an unsolicited basis should be aware that this information may be entered into our database. If an individual does not wish this to happen, unfortunately we will not be able to assist their employment search activities.
Data Transfer to Third Parties
An individual’s data will not be disclosed to any third party unless permission is granted by that individual or The Insight Group is required to do so by law.
Information Security
The Insight Group takes appropriate steps to ensure the security of personal information under our control. In addition, all employees undergo training on data privacy and security and are required to comply with our strict internal standards. All documents provided to clients contain a statement reminding them of the confidential nature of the information they receive.
Your rights
In accordance with the Privacy Amendment (Private Sector) Act 2000 an individual may have the right to request access to the information held about them by The Insight Group and to rectify any inaccuracies in their personal data. If for valid reasons, we are unable to comply with such a request we will notify the individual. An individual may direct any such requests or any questions relating to data privacy to the Privacy Officer at The Insight Group. We may need to ask the individual to provide appropriate confirmation of identity before processing a request. All requests will be acknowledged and dealt with promptly.
Association of Executive Search Consultants
In addition to complying with the relevant Australian Privacy Legislation, as a member of the Association of Executive Search Consultants (AESC), the worldwide professional association of retained executive search firms, The Insight Group acts in accordance with the Code of Ethics and Professional Practice Guidelines of the Association.
