Professor Susan Rowland has been appointed Vice-Provost at The University of Sydney.

Academic and Professional Leadership

The University of Sydney has appointed Professor Susan Rowland to the role of Vice-Provost, commencing in February 2023. As an education-focussed professor, Susan is an Australian leader in the field of science education and an internationally recognised expert in the areas of large-scale undergraduate research experience and science communication. She holds a Bachelor of Science and a PhD in Biochemistry from the University of Sydney and is a Principal Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Background and Research

Previously with the University of Queensland, Susan held several leadership roles including Deputy Director of the Institute for Teaching and Learning Innovation, Deputy Associate Dean Academic (Future Students and Employability) in the Faculty of Science, Associate Dean Academic and Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Science and Acting Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Teaching and Learning).
