Professor Shaun Gregory is joining Queensland University to lead the Centre for Biomedical Technologies. With the aim of revolutionising human health and patient care through technological advancement and innovation, the Centre stands at the forefront of Australia’s leading biomedical engineering research groups.

Background and Research

Shaun’s research centres around cardiovascular engineering, with a specific focus on the development and evaluation of mechanical circulatory and respiratory support systems (artificial hearts and lungs). He holds several academic positions including Deputy Head of Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at Monash University, Founder and Director of the Cardio-Respiratory Engineering And TEchnology Laboratory (CREATElab), Co-Director of the Artificial Heart Frontiers Program, Founder and Academic Director of the Heart Hackathon International Student Team Competition, an NHMRC Investigator Fellow, a Heart Foundation Future Leader Fellow, and Co-Chair of the Victorian Heart Institute New Technologies Working Group.
