About The Victoria Drought Resilience Adoption and Innovation Hub

The Victoria Drought Resilience Adoption and Innovation Hub is hosted by The University of Melbourne and is a unique state-wide partnership to enhance drought resilience on farms, in the environment and in communities. Professor Michael Tausz has been appointed as the new Drought Hub Director.

Background and Leadership

Originally from Austria, Michael previously spent 12 years at the University of Melbourne and when he left in 2016, was Professor of Crop and Tree Physiology within the Department of Forest and Ecosystem Science. Michael relocated to the UK joining the University of Birmingham as Professor and Chair (Forest Ecosystem Science) and was also Director of the Birmingham Institute of Forest Research. A plant physiologist by training, Michael’s research focusses on impacts of environmental change on forests and crop production systems. He recently completed an appointment as Professor of Agriculture and Environment and Head of Department at CQUniversity.
