Professor Ling Zhi Cheong has been appointed as Professor, Food Science at The University of Melbourne.

Academic and Professional Leadership

Professor Ling Zhi Cheong joins The University of Melbourne from Ningbo University, China where she has been the Deputy Director of the Department of Food Science and Technology in the College of Food and Pharmaceutical Sciences since 2020.  She previously worked as a Senior Scientist at the Wilmar International Global R&D Centre and Aarhus University in Denmark.

Background and Research

Ling Zhi has a PhD in Food and Enzyme Biotechnology from the Universiti Putra in Malaysia and an interest in researching green, sustainable and innovative food processing technologies, focusing on biocatalysis and biotransformation.
