Academic and Professional Leadership
Professor Jacky Croke joins QUT from University College Dublin where she is Head of School and co-Director of the BSc in Sustainability and Director of the MSc in Risk, Resilience and Sustainability. Professor Croke received her BA (Hons) and PhD degrees from UCD and travelled to Australia in 1991 as a recipient of an ARC Postdoctoral Fellowship at the University of Wollongong and the Australian National University in Canberra. She has held academic positions at several Australian Research organisations and Universities including CSIRO and The University of Queensland.
Background and Research
Jacky is a Geomorphologist and her work has focused on using cutting-edge approaches and technologies to reconstruct environmental change in a range of climatic zones, including arid, tropical and temperate. Key projects include The Big Flood Project (www.thebigflood.com.au), an Australian Research Council funded project involving industry and research partnerships that defined landscape response to extreme flood events in south-eastern Queensland.
