Professor Greg Cook has been appointed at Queensland University of Technology as Head of School of Biomedical Sciences in the Faculty of Health.

Academic and Professional Leadership

Professor Greg Cook will join QUT as Head of School of Biomedical Sciences in the Faculty of Health. He is currently Sesquicentennial Distinguished Chair at the University of Otago and Head of Department, Microbiology and Immunology. 

Background and Research

One of New Zealand’s leading biomedical researchers, Greg is also Director of The Maurice Wilkins Centre for Molecular Biodiscovery, one of the country’s foremost research centres. Research projects in the Cook laboratory are multidisciplinary, spanning human biomedical and agritech/biotech, and covering basic to translational research with a goal to produce new and fast-acting drugs that will address the issues of antimicrobial resistance and persistence.
